Pool Season Opening

Published: May 11, 2022

Summer is here and the Grayhawk pools are prepping for you! Needed renovations have been done at both pools in preparation for the swimming season. Most of the planned renovations have been completed but unfortunately some had to be delayed due to supply chain issues, labor issues, and unusually long lead times for some of the tasks.

The South Pool is scheduled to open on Saturday May 14th pending passage of inspection by the City of Frisco.

The North Pool opening is being delayed as we are still waiting on a piece of equipment to arrive that is needed to pass the city’s inspection. This part has been on backorder for over two months. We were informed yesterday the part will arrive early next week. We are rescheduling the inspection for this pool for next week.

Work that has been done at both pools:

North Pool

    • Pressure washed building, repaired rotted wood, and stained
    • Entire metal fencing replaced due to many sections of fence having rusted away and would not have passed inspection
o Needed to ensure property is securely enclosed for safety reasons
o The cost to replace was slightly higher than the cost to repair but made economic sense to invest in the fence rather than labor
    • Arbor removed as boards were rotting and was unsafe
    • Landscape maintenance
o Regarded along the north alley for drainage and to correct issues with the fence
o Refreshed the main entrance area to push seasonal color away from the sidewalk as there was too much drainage into this area, constantly killing the plants
o Corrected a drainage issue on the east side of the pool area
o Added shrubs to the west side of the area and cleaned up old bedding areas
    • Items not completed
o Replacement of the arbor has been delayed due to permitting issues with the city

South Pool

    • Pressure washed building, repaired rotted wood, and stained
    • Arbor removed as boards were rotting and was unsafe
    • Removal of all raised concrete blocks that supported the arbor and the posts for the old shade sail over the kiddie pool
    • What was not completed
o Replacement of the arbor has been delayed due to permitting issues with the city
o Entire renovation of the pool area decking and shade structures
 Due to the continued high demand upon all area pool companies, none of the firms we were working with in the December timeframe could guarantee a start date prior to mid-May
 We have selected a pool company to perform the work and are scheduling for work to be done after the pools close in the fall

You can pay any back-due fees via the SBB Management portal at https://owner.sbbmanagement.com/home_v2/Login

We look forward to seeing you again enjoying the warm weather! As always, please use caution around the water and be mindful of others.
